August 2009: BNJ is the first French speaking media to be certified ISAS BC 9001

The board of the Media and Society Foundation rewarded the quality of BNJ FM SA organization and management with the ISAS BC 9001:2003 certification.

BNJ FM SA is a complex organisation of 3 Swiss licensed radio stations: RFJ (Radio Fréquence Jura), RTN (Radio Neuchatel) and RJB (Radio Jura Bernois). In order to comply with the OFCOM/ BAKOM (Swiss Federal Office of Communications) obligation in terms of quality management, the group decided to implement an ISAS BC 9001-based quality management system and to achieve the certification before the deadline of the mandatory evaluation.

As a result, BNJ FM SA faced with success the certification audit in July 2009 and becomes the first French speaking and the first Swiss media to be certified in compliance with ISAS BC 9001.

In order to respect the OFCOM criteria in terms of evaluation, the ISAS BC 9001 auditors especially focused on the way BNJ manages its three newsroom: how the information is structured, the sources are verified and the ethical rules are applied.
