April 2007, Famous Peruvian Newspaper going to ISAS P 9001 certification, Lima, Peru
El Comercio is the oldest and most famous newspaper in Peru. Since its creation in 1839 it has defended its creeds: independence and veracity. Its non-partisan and accurate reporting on various topics - with a focus on politics – attracts each day around 500’000 lectors (daily impression of 100’000 copies during the week, 250’000 on Sundays).
Strict verification of sources, guiding principles, debate within the redaction, among others, are insuring the quality of information and the reputation of the newspaper. Quality is the keyword within El Comercio, not only at the content level, but also at each stage of the management. The decision to go to ISAS P-9001 certification takes place in the logical following of this commitment.
